Welcome to the world of PYRE. A solo dungeon crawler-esque NSFW TF game that I'm developing. This is my first game release ever and there are still quite a few kinks to work out and of course content to add. But I hope you'll join me regardless to see where this'll be going. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Do you plan on addressing the monotonous gameplay, or is that as intended? Feels a touch samey through-and-through at the moment, which is particularly egregious as I love a grindy game. I have the sinking feeling dev as intended this to be a game that mostly plays itself.

thanks for checking out the game! It's still in very early development, so a bunch of additional features that I'm thinking about haven't been implemented yet. Some of those should hopefully make the combat encounters more dynamic in the future. I'm not really interested in making an idle-game.
What kind of things would you like to see to add more spice to the gameplay?
got 2 coins for 5 hr grind. what a bad luck...
I've been there, be sure that you don't get them in a pack of 4 items,, you need to scroll to see them at the end of the item list.
In prealpha.4 trying to give the coin to the cat statue now causes the game to crash to desktop

it looks like you can't give stacked coins to the cat statue, if you have the hunter gatherer skill, you can't get single coins

Good morning, is the race change related to coins? (Can you at least give me a hint?)
i think you need to obtain a coin then go to the secret area in the wall at the west of the map, at the end of the area in the wall you'll have a chance of seeing a shrine, give it the coin and you should unlock the new race.
if you don't see the shrine, either move around the area in the wall or save and reload to refresh the area quickly.
i already found the shrine but i had no luck with coins personally.
Thanks. I'll check it out in about 30 minutes. (I already have about 21 coins, but I've thrown away 12 and only have 9. I feel like the drop rate is between 5~15% per monster. I'm not sure about bosses, as I've found more of them from monsters.)
Yes, I changed my race to a feline, but you can only change one part of your body at a time, and changes don't always happen. (In general, he became a cat for the whole body, but the question arose, will there be a tail? Or is it not provided yet?)
Through hunter-gatherer I've actually got that coin 3 times, but when I put the coin into that slot and click 'Give`item', I hear some kind of sound, but nothing happens?
Does that mean, hunter-gatherer softlocked my game?Unfortunately, there is no way to split up item stacks.

that might be a luck issue but I've been playing for a few hours and i haven't found a single coin yet, I've gone around the map multiple times and farmed bosses and regular enemies for a few hours and no coin in sight.
nevermind, i just got three, i just got desire sensored
Another issue I have: I could defeat the wild avethir Baroness (Only boss I've tested so far) before in prealpha.1, but not anymore. And my HP is back to 500 from 597 before?
[Edit:] Same for the woodgolem boss ... I'm at human level 8 and got all upgrades I could so far, but no chance?

use the torch weapon on the wood golem, she takes like 5 tmes fire damage, you can make them with 2 lean logs, 2 torn cloth and 2 strange syrup, as for the other bosses, i like to use the beginner's nature wand, made with 2 lean logs and a cracked emyriln stone (from the wood golem)
Tooltips suddenly stopped working for me. Even closing and reopening the game didn't fix that.
[Edit:] ok, somehow this was fixed after reloading the save again ... mmh
Very Strange. What happened exactly? Because I've never encountered this. I'm glad that its gone now, but if you or anyone else is able to reproduce this then make a comment.
hey, the game page says that you've updated the game a few times but the links are still the same and the dev log only has the first update, is this an oversight ? or does the cite consider your comment replies as updates ?

I have no idea where the TF in this game is. I've killed all three bosses, gathered hundreds of most materials, and traveled to every square. And yet, I haven't found anything that even hints at where to go.
Also, most of the materials you gather have no use, or are effectively useless at this time.
Are there ant recipes in primitive loom? I just get there and can do nothing?
You need to track down string. Bring a decent about of string to the loom, and you can make some torn up clothes. Though the stats on them are worse than the wood armor.
Hey I think there is a bug, because I can't seem to unlock Hunter gatherer even though I have all the conditions required to obtain it.
edit: never mind i was playing on alpha 0 and not 1

I had no way of moving after going through the portal as there a no movement arrows so all i can do is go back and forth between the portal. stuck in the same two spots.

You can right click on things like the portal. That will make it disappear and allow you to continue moving. You can also check the user manual that is packaged with the game for some additional information.

absolutely! Though I fear that it might get a little too cluttered for the comment section. I checked if I can open discussion boards, but looks like you can't have them and comments together at the same time.
I've been looking for the cat statue, i checked every grid space and found nothing, does it have a chance of appearing like the tree stumps ?
An interesting bug is that if you throw the item in the trash and boot, the item will remain in the trash when booting.
Oh! Nice catch, I'll fix that as soon as I'm able.
It's fun, but I feel like there are far too few ways to recover HP.
What makes this even worse is that bandages and armor are made from the same materials. In the early stages, if you make armor, you won't have enough bandages, and vice versa.
Even after defeating a boss, the symbol doesn't disappear, so if you fight with few resources, you'll definitely not have enough HP to return and won't be able to return to camp. In the worst case scenario, you'll be forced to delete your save data.
As a result, I was forced to abandon my 8-hour game data.
I think this is because the recovery amount from recovery items is so small that it's completely out of balance with the enemy's attack power. Because of this, no matter how much armor you wear, you'll use up 20-30 or more recovery items before reaching the boss. And since the materials are only dropped by some enemies at a relatively low rate, it becomes a complete chore to just keep hunting those enemies.
And the recovery items you collect over 30 minutes are gone within 10 minutes.
If only there were recovery objects or something on the map...
This is my first time playing a dungeon crawler. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
This game has the feel of a gemstone that will shine once polished.
But for now, there are still elements that need polishing.
I'll continue to support this game, and I'm excited to see how it develops in the future.
With armor and weapons, and about 200-300 bandages is enough to get from the portal to the boss and then to the next one. But the start is very slow and you have to literally farm near the portal, but after leveling up your skills, you don't have to farm much.

thank you so much for trying the game and writing down your experience. The soft lock issue that you've experienced is something that I'm actively thinking about and I'm sorry that this happened to you.
Right now I have a solution in mind that should alleviate the issue. I'll try to add that to the next minor update.

I have one question: are there any plans to implement transformations such as gender changes (temporary or permanent) caused by attacks from the player's enemies, map traps, or equipment effects?
Right now I'm still working on some core systems, so I can't/won't give any grand promises. But those suggestions are definitely things that I want to implement (depending on how feasible they are, of course).
i have to echo everyone else how do you get the race change?

I may be stupid. How do you move away from from the tent/portal? The arrows don’t show up when either are on the screen.

The same question. I've killed a lot of creatures and traversed almost the entire map, but I still haven't figured it out.

love it but would prefer if you commited fully to a nsfw version even as a paid product gives really good modern coc vibes also i doubt any of them read the user manual which i prefer having separate as it means a tutorial doesnt get annoying when starting a new charachter

keyboard support for movement for one thing, increase speed of objects appearing or disappearing so grinding can be done faster, battle speed timer so that way if your safe grinding you can speed up or down as needed.. Cursed items that can transform you need to have regular findable items that aren't cursed of course. Body description currently its just a image designated to racials would prefer if each piece had a clickable description. will need initial character creation as well to support that. and of course a full body that goes into all the details eg something like liliths throne might be too much but less parts with a more verbose transformation system would be nice
honestly some things could be good to do thru the settings
like item respawning
enemy strengths
player stats aka how hard you get hit or do hitting
its just smart to let the players customize how hard the game is as some people might want hard scavageing while easy fights
and vice versa
the best way to get as many happy customers or players is to make as many game stats customizable as possible
disagree there is a intended difficulty to a game subverting always should leave someone hollow there are already ways to mitigate it via grinding either plan for a fight or overgear/overlevel it
TBH. I didn't even know there was a user manual until I saw this comment
Can't figure out the controls. First thing I did was find a portal, but could no longer navigate away from it, only repeatedly enter one end, then back through the other to end up where I came from, with simply the option to repeat the process. :<

I'm very sorry to hear that! You can right click on things like the portal to dismiss them. That will make it disappear and you can continue moving. You can also check the user manual that is packaged with the game. But regardless, I'll see what I can add to make interacting a little more understandable!
interesting concept.
heres a few things that bugged me about this
1. pretty much had no knowledge of controls. please add keybinds
2. inventory is tiny and looting in annoying, please increase the width and height of the inventory
3. i'd like to see all recipies that an item is craftable with when i get the item so it doesnt feel like im getting junk items.
4. map is too tiny, can a button to see the whole map be added.
5. the options on the right side of the skill tree seem unobtainable, unless its intended to only pick one row.
once again, this is a interesting concept, i'd like to see more of it.

the skills on the right side of the skill tree? i had like three points but and was level 5 but i couldnt obtain the perks. did that happen because i took the stat boosters on the left side?
